El Retiro is Now Officially a Protected Productive Landscape (PPP)

We are proud to share an important milestone: our ranch has been officially recognised as a Protected Productive Landscape (PPP).

The PPP program, created by ProYungas Argentina and implemented in Paraguay by WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society) and Fundación Moisés Bertoni, promotes a model where productive activities and biodiversity conservation coexist in a meaningful and measurable way.

Following a thorough evaluation of both the biodiversity present on our land and our environmental practices, we received a favorable diagnosis and, after signing the adhesion agreement, are now formally part of the PPP network. What makes this recognition especially meaningful to us is that no adjustments were required, since our operation already met all the necessary standards.

This reflects how we have been managing our operations for years: hunting is strictly prohibited, we actively protect key species such as the jaguareté (Panthera Onca), and we apply responsible wildlife management practices, including how we handle encounters with snakes. These are not isolated measures, but part of a broader approach to working with the environment rather than against it.

As part of this recognition, representatives of the program visited the ranch and installed the official PPP sign, a simple but significant moment that marks the formalisation of a way of working we have long believed in.
